Michelin-starred Italian Zafferano restaurant has now opened a deluxe delicatessen - next door at 16 Halkin Arcade, Lowndes Street, London SW1. It sells rare cheeses, oils and wines from throughout Italy. Many of them are not available anywhere else in London.

The Zafferano Deli offers an unparalleled range of exclusive Italian foods. For example, it will be the sole UK supplier of Bagos cheese, of which only 12 rounds in total are made each year in Val di Caffaro, Lombardia. The cheese is made from the milk of the razza bruna cows and is slightly flavoured with saffron.

It will also sell a unique range of fresh pastas, truffle polenta, olive oils, vintage wines, hand-made breads, artisan cured meats, unusual olive varieties and Balsamic vinegars - as well as freshly prepared Lasagnes, Melazane Parmigiana, Italian name soups and salads.
