Le Cercle was opened in May 2004 by Pascal Aussignac and Vincent Labeyrie. Le Cercle broadened the duo’s southwest French repertoire to showcase fine regional food throughout France. Located near Sloane Square, and just a few steps from Sloane Street, Le Cercle appeals to a wide customer base – local shoppers, residents, theatre/concert-goers (both Cadogan Hall and the Royal Court Theatre are nearby), visitors to London, and savvy gourmands who appreciate the gutsy but refined tastes of Head Chef Thierry Beyris’ seasonally changing menus.
The main à la carte menu, which changes quarterly with the seasons, has themed sections such as Vegetal (vegetarian), Marin (fish and seafood), Fermier (meat and game), Terroirs (offal and gutsy dishes), Plaisirs (richer, more luxurious dishes, some with caviar or foie gras), Fromagerie (cheese), and Gourmandises (desserts).
Each dish is small, and prices range from £4.50-£16. There is also a three-course prix fixe lunch menu for £15, including either tea or coffee, or four courses for £19.50. In the evening there is a pre- and post-theatre set menu at £17.50 for three courses, or £21.50 for four courses, available from 6pm-7pm, then from 10pm-11pm (last orders).
The wine list at Le Cercle features 175 bins (with 22 by the glass), focusing entirely on France, and each dish on the main menu has a recommended matching wine.
Le Cercle is open for lunch (noon-3pm) and dinner (6pm-11pm) from
Tuesday through Saturday.
